Does pressure washing hose length effect pressure?
The length of a hose can effect performance, but not necessarily in a noticeable way. The longer the hose, the more water pressure can decrease at the nozzle due to friction and the resistance of moving a larger volume of water. However, this effect is generally negligible under normal conditions with appropriately sized, high-quality hoses. The loss doesn’t significantly affect performance unless you are using a machine that is undersized for the hose length (100ft or more) or the hose is very long and/or too small in diameter for the flow.
High-pressure (outlet) hoses are available up to 100-200 feet, but 50ft is the standard. Hoses longer than the recommended 50 ft may become impractical, as both pressure loss and hose management (knotting and tangling) become factors. A hose that is too long on the supply side can also starve the pump and cause damage. While longer outlet hoses offer more reach, they can indeed cause pressure drop.
